Titcombs of Hawaii ‘ohana gave updates during a recent zoom call on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 9:00 HST. Kaumualiʻi Titcomb opened our meeting with a pule and an ʻōelo noʻeau- Ua ola loko i ke aloha #2836. He gave an overview of what took place on the previous month’s call. Introduction of new ‘ohana to the zoom call was made. Uncle Billy Titcomb ( Kaumualiʻi’s dad) joined us, and cousin Bill Titcomb and his wife from Texas joined the call.
Kaʻau Abraham shared what the numbers were for website registration and 2022 reunion registration. He mentioned that the Titcombs of Hawaii website registration has 190 individuals registered to the site. The 190 includes individuals that registered for the 2013 Titcomb Family Reunion and new registration in 2021. A Facebook poll was posted on August 1st to find out what may be preventing ‘ohana from registering to the website. The poll showed that most would like to find out information on social media, followed by a few that did not know the website address and several ‘ohana that is waiting until it is closer to the reunion date.
There was a discussion led by Kenwyn about a theme for the next family reunion. The topic of the Titcomb family cemetery was mentioned and discussion took place. Save The Cemetery was mentioned as was two ʻōelo noʻeau (Hawaiian proverbs).
Discussion to postpone the reunion as a caution to COVID-19 numbers and what may or may not happen. At the end of the discussion, it was agreed by all on the call that we continue to plan going forward and re-assess at our December 2021 zoom call.
